It's been a while since I have seen a programme of so many things in one month to think about trying to get along to see, in May NFT will show:
Julie Christie - The Most Poetic of Actresses
Roberto Rossellini - Through the Realism to Rhapsody. Part 1 of a Rossellini season that sees Isabella Rossellini inroduce a screening of 'Rome Open City' on May 6th.
Shane Meadows season
The Maysles Brothers season
Bill Douglas - the trilogy and 'Comrades'.
so...how was sunshine man.
Richard, in response to your question to me over at Lazy Eye Theatre, I got the Grindhouse info from here, in the penultimate paragraph. I hope it's not true. Maybe there will be a few cinemas that opt to do the double bill regardless...
Presumably the Julie Christie season was in the planning stages when we were at the Kenneth Anger thingy hence you seeing her at the NFT.
Testify ~ could be, or Julie Christie is a huge Kenneth Anger fan too...
I am looking forward to the Rossellini retrospective. I am a big fan of his films. Some of my favourites include Stromboli, Voyage in Italy, Europe 51, Francesco, guillare di Dio and Paisa.
