Dream double bill # 17 'Shock Corridor' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'

This week's double bill couples Samuel Fuller's 1963 film 'Shock Corridor' with 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' (1975) directed by Milos Forman. Both films take place inside psychiatric hospitals and give us an insight to what life might be like on the inside and to a certain extent the outside.

I'm afraid i came to the party a little late where Sam Fuller is concerned.

Cinematheque Ontario did a retrospective a year or two ago, and I saw "SC", "Naked Kiss", Pickup on South Street","Underworld USA", "House of Bamboo" over the course of about 3 nights. It was quite a crash course....and a real treat.

"Shock Corridor" is a peciliar little number - It's laughable in one or two spots ("Nymphos!!!!)but it also sticks in your craw , somehow.
