'The Maltese Falcon' was I think the first film of Huston's I saw, I enjoyed it immensely so I thought I'd post some images from the opening sequence here.
BBC are showing three films this week to celebrate the centenary of Huston's birth.
BBC2 today at 14.45 'Heaven Knows Mr Allison'.
BBC2 Sunday 6th August at 23.30 'The Asphalt Jungle'.
BBC1 Wednesday 9th August 00.00 midnight 'The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean'.

Wonderful post, Richard!!.I love John Huston´s films...but ´the maltese falcon´is special for me due to three great reasons: John Huston, Humphrey Bogart and Dashiell Hammett.
The dialogues are so clever that sometimes you want to see the film again only for enjoying them.
I have found thanks to your imdb link some quotes from this film, i hope you enjoy them as much as me (www.imdb.com/title/tt0033870/quotes).
Without a doubt, the best for me are the last lines:
-Detective Tom Polhaus: [picks up the falcon] Heavy. What is it?
-Sam Spade: The, uh, stuff that dreams are made of.
-Detective Tom Polhaus: Huh?
Thanks Richard and fantastic pictures in ´if Charlie Parker...´
as well about this date, impressive!!
